Hi, I'm Ali Hassani, a senior computer science undergrad and researcher. I currently follow machine learning specifically unsupervised learning and artificial neural networks. I also have a background in evolutionary computing and as well as web development. My previous field of research was large-scale data reduction and feature selection using clustering-based methods. Regarding that, I came up with a filtering algorithm that reduces dataset size that can help accurate model learning and feature selection.

My last project which was just submitted (arXiv) started with an investigation into matrix analysis methods and their applications in text mining. Me and my research partner came up with a dimensionality reduction method for term-document matrices, which are created for learning text data. Our method, as opposed to many others, only used a matrix factorization in order to agglomerate the feature vectors into new features in order to create a new space.

My previous project (arXiv) was about unsupervised learning measures working together with neural networks trained with triplet loss. I'm also working on generative models as well--my photo up here was generated in the style of Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. I'm exploring several new fields such as matrix applications in ML.

I'm also very passionate about programming as it gives me energy. When it comes to programming languages, I believe they're more or less like human languages, which is why I can adapt to new programming languages easily. The ones I've coded in most are PHP, Python, C++ and C#.
